The Nuclear Debate

August 22, 2007
The CPI is meeting today to finalise the next course of action IF the government continues with Operationalisation of the 123 Agreement. Frankly the people of India should care a damn about the same. I think MMS needs to hold fast and keep the momentum. The possiblity of the Coomis calling the bluff is pretty remote.

Lets analyse the reasons for the same:

  1. The recent Nandigram Tragedy has put the commi’s onto a weak foot in their own home territory of West Bengal. Their own position in Kerala is also not worth writing home about.
  2. The Coomis will be making common cause with the NDA. That will expose their true nature, so the possibility of they doing so is remote. If the NDA and the Commis can’t make common cause the congress can continue in Power till the next General Election even though it will be a minority Government.
  3. The NDA with a fractured leadership is not and does not want a mid term election.

Consequently all one can say is that “LET THE HEADLESS CHICKENS RUN AROUND” AND LET THE COMMI DOGS BARK. SINCE THATS ALL THAT THEY CAN DO. NOTHING LESS AND NOTHING MORE.

Hold Tight Mate

August 20, 2007
Hold tight mate…

Well thats my message to the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers. This Nuclear Agreement has to be operationalized and these is no going back on that. My guess is that the Chinese will announce a similar deal with Pakistan in the coming 2-3 weeks and then the dust will settle down. The only difference will be that the Chinese move will not have the blessings of the IAEA and the NSG and will further isolate Pakistan in the global diplomatic circles. If that was to happen then I guess we should send all of our Communist Brothers across the border. The reason will be as follows:

  1. Well if the Sino-PAK agreement was to take place, Pakistan will get further isolated and will be forced to give up its sovereignty in the TRUEST SENSE. Our commi brothers will then have a legitimate cause to fight for.
  2. The Chinese will require a whole bunch of Politburo members to run the place called Pakistan. Where else other then India will they get indiginised and loyal communist who can survive long tenures in the Indian Subcontinent. 🙂

I guess the storm will pass pretty soon… May be a couple of weeks.. So HOLD ON MATES and FAIR WEATHER will reach us.. For we are blessed by the lord.

The Nuclear Agreement

August 19, 2007
This evening the government announced that they will setup a panel to discuss the agreement with the Commi’s. I say lets stop talking to a bunch of people who lack maturity, a sense of balance and purpose. I completely agree with one of the negotiators when he said that the agreement cannot be changed for a bunch of politicians who lack personal self esteem and further lack confidence that the people who negotiated the agreement are well wishers of the country.

In my opinion the government carry out the following activities:

  1. Make available the test of the agreement to the people.
  2. Explain the agreement to the common folks in simple language. Tell them the process that needs to be completed before the agreement come to force.
  3. Tell the people the benefits that this agreement will bring to the country in the long run and explain How and why this is critical to us.
  4. List out the alternatives that are being proposed by the Commi’s and tell people why they are irrational.
  5. Share with the people the list of Friendly Nuclear powers who support the agreement
    and also tell them why?
  6. Explain to the common man that every country more so a democracy has the Sovereign right to enact its own laws. These laws including the Henry Hyde Act were proposed and enacted by a democratically elected House of representatives. The US House and Senate has passed just such a act.
  7. The government needs to explain to our people that this agreement is not a sell off to the US or by the US. Both India and USA has conceded and accommodated the realities on the ground in India and the USA. Some concessions that the USA has made are going to get their folks a lot of Flak but in the opinion of the government these concessions are best made in the larger interest of the country.
  8. Its also important that the Government disclose and make public the close links between the Chinese Communist Party and Communist Party of India and its other brothers.

After they have finished with this list they should stop wasting time in convincing the Communist’s in the country and get to the business of providing good governance that this country desperately requires.

INDO US Nuclear Agreement

August 18, 2007
Lets all accept a few facts:

  1. All of the Key Civilian Indian Nuclear Reactors are running at less then their rated capacity. The main reason for this is lack of quality fuel. We got some emergency shipments from Russia last year but those stocks will not last for ever. WE DON’T HAVE TOO MANY CHOICES.

  2. Read the 123 agreement carefully along with the Henry Hyde Act. While there is a provision for termination of the agreement this requires a determination by the President of USA that the suspension/termination will not harm the interests of the USA. The stakes for both India and US are substantially raised in the event of the termination of the agreement. The Agreement has been created basis the explicit acceptance by the USA that India is a responsible Nuclear Power. Testing for the sake of testing is not-responsible. If testing of a nuclear device has to be carried out by India in the present geopolitical scenerio that would happen only of China was to take a offensive posture. Now read between the line – That scenerio is also not good for USA. So the President of USA will have to make a determination on weather termination of the agreement will be harmful to the National Interests of USA.

  3. Long term Energy security of India is going to be more ciritical for India to continue on a sustainable growth path. This will mean access to stable, long term and clean energy sources. Disparity and unequality in India can be decreased only through sustained and equitable economic growth. Fossile based fuel sources may not be sustainable over a extended time horizon. All the people entering this debate need to understand that its economic power that will determine the resources that we will have at out disposal in the eventuality of a Dooms day scenario. Energy security will also determine long term sovereignty’s rather then the Nuclear bombs.

  4. Its assumed that in the future Nuclear testing will not be required. Even if required the warheads could be sub-kilo tonne warheads that could be carried out with out detection. Further computer simulation technologies using COTS frameworks exist even today. For those who don’t understand what I am saying check out the Nigara Chip from SUN Microsystems Line up 128 node of that using a Grid Manager and with some nice C++ coding from our System Integrators we will have a platform in place.

  5. Analyze the news, guys there is a uncanny consistancy beetween the words coming out of China and from Comarade Bardhan & COMPANY. The COMMIS seem to be taking orders form the other side of the border. Lets give then the right to determine their national alligence and with either choices they should be locked up and sent to KALA PANI.

Its time that the Wagha Candle lighters, the Chinese and the COMMIS kept their trap shut.

Independence Day 2007

August 18, 2007

I have been looking back over the last 5 years trying to recollect what has changes in all of this time. Has india moved forward or has it recessed into some thing thats difficult to describe.. At the end of all the thought process there are even more questions then there are answers. Yet there are some conclusions that once can reach:

  1. Inequality in India has increased for sure. The Rich are becoming super rich. The Poor become super poor. The middle class end up paying for every one i.e. the Super Rich and the Super Poor.
  2. The triad of the Politicians, the Bureaucrats and the Businessmen is out to sell this country to the highest bidder. Corruption if at all is becoming more and more rampant. Okey some folks will claim that corruption has decreased but one needs to put things in perspective. One of the most vibrant sectors of the economy is real estate development, and if one was to look around we find that the lobby of Bureaucrats, Builders and Politicians typically bend all rules at the cost of amenities that the common man requires. These are the people who de-reserve land that has been originally set aside for play grounds and schools, the same people manage to get permissions for building office complexes and shopping arcades on land set aside for hospitals and health centres. They get away by charging the Tax paying middle class for shoody quality of road construction.

Yes, Indeed corruption of one type has come down, but the middle class now pays these lobbies not through petty bribes of Rs 100-150 but rather through leakages in the development budgets.

  3. For the last 3 budgets the Indian Middle class has been hearing that development does not happen for every one at the same time. The UPA government has as a matter of fact not delivered development for any one except for the super rich. The Federal and State Governments have not delivered to either the super poor due to the huge leakages in funding, nor has it delivered to the Middle class who have funded the growth of the country for the past 20-25 years. This country has only delivered growth to the super rich by lining their pockets with more money. Mr. Finance Minister and Mr Prime Minister the UPA government needs to start delivering to the Middle class now.

Having made these comments its also worth recognizing that India has actually progressed a lot in the last 60 Years. As a friend very aptly said freedom and I mean Real Freedom will occur only when every Indian has the freedom to think and act to maximise the good of his nation, his society and himself always in that order. Today we don’t stand at that threshold and as Indians we will have to strive to reach there.

Don’t expect SOA to fix ERP quagmire

August 18, 2007

Another view: Don’t expect SOA to fix ERP quagmire by ZDNet‘s Joe McKendrick — ERP, or enterprise software systems, have gained little for companies, and SOA is too slow to make a dent in the complexity these systems have wrought.

Poison from China…- How China is poisoning our next generation

August 15, 2007
Hi All,

I have been reading the newspapers about the recall of toys manufactured by the chinese. Reasons, Huge level of lead content in the paint used in the toys and the Magnet fiasco.. As a concerned parent of a 3 year old I think its time that India banned the imports of toys made in China.

What are your thoughts?
